Broadband Actions in Two States
In Wyoming, private companies are starting to build out the Unified Network which is one of Governor Matt Mead’s initiatives to enhance the broadband network and build the 100 gigabit backbone for the state as compared to 2.5 gigabits in place now. VA Negotiating Sole Source Contract
The Veterans Affairs New England Healthcare System located at the West Haven VAMC in Connecticut posted an announcement on www.fbo.gov on May 29, 2014 explaining that the VAMC plans to negotiate a sole source firm fixed contract with Champion Medical Technologies. The contract would be for one new unique device identifier, called the “UDI Tracker” to be used by the West Haven VAMC Department of Surgery. (more…)
Foundations to Award Grants
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Public Health Services and Systems Research (PHSSR) program seeks applications for projects. Today, public health delivery systems can vary widely across the U.S as do programs, services, and policies implemented through these systems. CMS Funding Several Projects
CMS is providing new funding to give states and innovators tools and flexibility to implement delivery system reform. Under the Health Care Innovations Awards program, twelve prospective recipients in thirteen states may receive as much as $110 million in combined funding, ranging from an expected $2 million to $18 million over a three year period.
