The World Health Organization estimates that the 285 million people visually impaired worldwide includes 39 million who are blind and 246 million who have low vision. Alafair Biosciences Receives $2 Million
Texas Governor Rick Perry has announced that the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TETF) awarded $2 million to Alafair Biosciences Inc. to fund the commercialization of their internal wound healing devices. Showcase to Build Partnerships
The Arizona Telemedicine Program (ATP) is busy organizing their first annual Telemedicine and Telehealth Service Provider Showcase to be held October 6-7, 2014 in Phoenix Arizona. The Showcase will focus on building partnerships to help bring quality medical specialty services directly into hospitals, clinics, private practices, and into homes. Grant Funding Available
The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) within USDA announced in the May 22, 2014 Federal Register on page 29399 that $19,300,000 in grant funds is available and applications are sought for the “Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) grant program for FY 2014. The maximum amount to be made available to an applicant in FY 2014 is $500,000. (more…)
Reaching Goals in Minnesota
The Glenwood Medical Center, a primary care Rural Health Center is attached and closely integrated with the Glacial Ridge Hospital an independent, not-for-profit, 19 bed critical access hospital located in Glenwood Minnesota. The Glenwood Medical Center employs seven family practice physicians, one general vascular surgeon, one OB/GYN, and four family nurse practitioners. (more…)
