$100 Million for Life Sciences

The Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) announced that over $100 million in grants are going for life sciences related capital projects in western Massachusetts. This includes $95 million for the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst and $5.5 million for the Pioneer Valley Life Sciences Institute (PVLSI), a joint venture of the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and UMass Amherst.  (more…)

10th Annual Connected Health Symposium Scheduled For October; Call for Demonstrations Announced

This year marks a significant milestone for the Partners Healthcare Center for Connected Health. The organization will be hosting its 10th Annual Connected Health Symposium with a theme of  “Collaborations and Innovations to Engage Patients and Elevate Care.”

The Symposium, which brings together leaders in the fields of health care delivery and design, academics, and technology, will be held October 24-25 in Boston at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center. (more…)

Device for Paralyzed Veterans

The Technology Transfer Program at the VA is developing an adjustable mouth stick stylus to allow users to effectively use and control tablet computer devices. This technology could benefit individuals with paralysis including those suffering from a stroke or spinal cord injuries. (more…)
