Healthcare Unbound Conference Coming

The Tenth Annual Healthcare Unbound Conference and Exhibition organized by the Center for Business Innovation (TCBI) and the Collaborative Health Consortium (CHC) will be held July 11-12, 2013 at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver.

CHC is a member supported industry group of companies and individuals devoted to enabling collaborative care. TCBI is an organizer of conferences on healthcare and technology. Over the years, this conference has attracted hundreds of high level executives and clinicians from across the U.S. and abroad.

Forrester Research coined the term “Healthcare Unbound” to encompass the trends toward technology-aided self-care, mobile care, and home care. More specifically, Forrester defined Healthcare Unbound as “technology in, on, and around the body that frees care from formal institutions.”

Sessions will emphasize technology-enabled consumer engagement and behavior change. Key topics to be covered include innovative applications of remote monitoring, home telehealth, mHealth, eHealth, social media, and gaming to help manage diseases, promote wellness and facilitate accountable care.

Substantial changes have been made to the program for 2013. In addition to a new lineup of compelling keynote speakers, the program will feature three new educational tracks:

  • Track A will focus on government-private sector collaboration to promote consumer engagement. It will be Co-Chaired by Lygeia Riccardi, ONC Director of Consumer Engagement and Lesley Kelly Hall, Senior vice President of Policy at Healthwise
  • Track B will concentrate on entrepreneurship focusing on innovation activity in the Healthcare Unbound space
  • Track C will explore consumer engagement through the use of remote monitoring, home telehealth, mHealth, eHealth, social media, and gaming. This track will also feature presentations on how Healthcare Unbound technologies can help to facilitate population health management and accountable care.

Keynote speakers include executives from Premier, Aetna, WellPoint, Premera Blue Cross, Continua Health Alliance, and Intel. For full details on the conference, go to http://tcbi.org/hcub13.
