Tele-ICU Partnership Provides Solution

Trauma Center in a Backpack
The Navy finds providing trauma care for Marines and sailors deployed in remote locations to be a daunting challenge. When a person suffers major trauma such as a shrapnel wound, serious head injury or a severe burn, it is important to have rapid access to high level medical care. Bill Introduced in the House
On June 14th, Representative Michael G. Fitzpatrick from Pennsylvania introduced the “Medicare Residential Care Coordination Act of 2013” (H.R. 2376) to implement a ten year demonstration project. The demonstration would provide payments for comprehensive coordinated healthcare services for Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) for Medicare beneficiaries. The states would be involved but only if a state elects to participate in the demonstration project. (more…)
