Robots at Rady Children’s Hospital
Doctors at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego www.rchsd.org recently introduced new telemedicine robots that put advanced video teleconferencing technology on wheels allowing physicians to evaluate patients quickly and from anywhere in the world. USDA Funds Telemedicine Grants
USDA’s Distance Learning and Telemedicine program is helping Gonzales Healthcare System with $300,000 in funding to advance healthcare technology and increase the standard of patient care in Gonzales County in Texas. New FSMB Guidelines for Telemedicine
The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) have approved updated guidelines to help ensure the safety and quality of medicine when it is practiced using telemedicine technology. The “Model Policy on the Appropriate Use of Telemedicine Technologies in the Practice of Medicine” adopted by FSMB provides a basic roadmap that state boards can use to ensure that patients are protected from harm.
