Awards for mHealth in LMICs
NIH has just awarded $2.5 million to spur innovation in mobile communication technologies and software applications used in biomedical research in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC). FDA’s News on Medical Devices
FDA www.fda.gov has awarded 15 grants totaling more than $19 million to boost the development of medical devices, drugs, and biological products for patients with rare diseases. At least a quarter of the funding will go to studies focusing solely on pediatrics. (more…)
Cancer Risk Registry Established
A newly formed consortium with experts from academic medical centers and commercial genetics laboratories across the country, has established the “Prospective Registry of Multi-Plex Testing” (PROMPT) www.promptstudy.org. This online registry is available to individuals and families who have undergone testing for inherited cancer-causing genetic mutations. (more…)
