The 2014 Ebola outbreak is the largest in history. By late September, more than 7,100 Ebola infections and 3,300 deaths were reported by the World Health organizations. It’s the first Ebola outbreak in West Africa and the first to affect major cities. (more…)
HRSA’s program called “Special Products of National Significance” or SPNS http://hab.hrsa.gov/abouthab/partfspns.html has been addressing emerging trends and needs along the HIV Care Continuum since the early 1990s. The purpose for the SPNS program is to provide HIV service delivery through demonstration products that focus primarily on underserved, underinsured, and uninsured populations. (more…)
NIH recently announced funding for FY 2014 for their Niche Assessment Program geared to SBIR/STTR Phase I awardees (NOT-OD-15-003) http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-15-003.html. The program involves three steps that entail collecting information to identify feasible applications for the technology, do an in-depth market study on the technology, and then market the technology to end users.
