Glucose Monitoring Device Approved
FDA www.fda.gov has approved Medtronic’s MiniMed 670G hybrid closed looped system. This is the first FDA approved device that is intended to automatically monitor glucose and provide appropriate basal insulin doses to people 14 years old or older with type 1 diabetes. (more…)

School-Based Telehealth Funds
To help children live healthier lives, the Karen S. Rheuban Center for Telehealth at the University of Virginia (UVA) Health System http://uvahealth.com/services/telemedicine-telehealth-services, is creating four school-based telehealth centers. Overall the project aims to help children with conditions from autism to asthma have better access to specialists and coordinated care in a region with a shortage of healthcare providers. (more…)
