Alaska’s Broadband Increasing
Alaska has some of the most remote sparsely populated pockets of land in the U.S with many Alaska Natives living in tiny villages with just a few hundred people. The state is more than double the size of Texas and has more than three million lakes, 34,000 miles of shoreline, and 29,000 square miles of ice fields, but yet has fewer than 750,000 residents. State Transforming Pre-Hospital Care
To promote effective use of HIE among California’s emergency medical services agencies, the California Health and Human Services (CHHS) Agency awarded a grant to the state Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA). CDC Targets Antibiotic Resistance
CDC’s FY 2015 budget request for $11.1 billion includes funds for $455 million to rapidly identify new infectious disease threats. A portion of the funds would support the proposed “Detect and Protect Against Antibiotic Resistance” (AR) initiative to improve surveillance and laboratory capacity at local, state, and national levels to deal with domestic AR pathogens. MC4 EMR System Upgraded
The Army is fielding a major software upgrade to their EMR system called “Communications for Combat Casualty Care” or referred to as MC4. The software upgrade will produce significant changes when treating soldiers wounded on the battlefield. (more…)
FY 2015 Budget to Advance Technology
