Adolescence is a time of physical and emotional changes and transition between the worlds of childhood and adulthood.  The problem is that 25 percent of 18 million adolescents have the onset of chronic conditions such as obesity, hypertension, and schizophrenia, but at the same time, may have difficulty receiving appropriate care for their physical and mental health needs. New York DOH Selects Contractors

The New York State Department of Health (DOH) on December 5th announced the selection of regional contractors for the “Population Health Improvement Program (PHIP). The PHIP was the result of a proposal in Governor Cuomo’s 2014 State of the State address that reflects the recommendations of the Public Health and Health Planning Council. Eleven regional contractors will work with community stakeholders to develop innovative health promotion strategies. (more…)
