Rural Hospitals Receive Funds
In April, the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust http://helmsleytrust.org provided $16 million in new grants to help 41 hospitals in the rural upper Midwest. The Helmsley Rural Healthcare Program funds innovative projects that use IT to connect rural patients to emergency medical care, bring the latest medical therapies to patients in remote areas, and provide state-of-the-art training for rural hospitals and EMS personnel. A Purdue University www.purdue.edu affiliated software startup AccuPS LLC recently received www.accups.com $100,000 in investment funding to assist in further development.
