December 2016, Public Law 114-286, “Faster Care for Veterans Act of 2016” was enacted directing the Veterans Administration to carry out a pilot program in not less than three Veterans Integrated Services Networks (VISN).
The pilot program is going to evaluate existing commercially available off-the-shelf online patient self-scheduling system to check for the ability to schedule and confirm medical appointments. This project includes both the acquisition of an existing commercial self-scheduling capability and the development of interfaces to integrate with the Veterans Health Information Systems and VistA.
Document Storage Systems, Inc. located in Juno Beach, Florida was awarded the contract on April 14, 2017 (VA 118-17C-1898) for $19,653,365.75. This project includes the acquisition of existing commercial self-scheduling capability and the development of interfaces to integrate that capability with VA systems.
