Increasing Efficiency & Safety in ICUs

The two organizations are going to develop a health IT solution that collects data from different monitoring equipment and identifies key trends aimed at preventing injuries and complications in the ICU. Population Survey Offered by eHI
An eHealth Initiative (eHI) www.ehidc.org survey offers new insight into population health management analytics and reveals critical areas for improvement. The eHealth Initiative’s first ever population survey of 65 healthcare providers shows progress in the ability to collect and analyze health data, although results suggest EHRs are a missed opportunity so far. The survey shows that despite widespread adoption of EHRs, only 17 percent of survey respondents integrate population health analytics into the EHRs. (more…)

HHS www.hhs.gov awarded up to $22.9 million for “Planning Grants for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics” to clinics in 24 states. The HHS Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) www.samhsa.gov, CMS www.cms.gov, plus the HHS Assistant Secretary of Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) http://aspe.hhs.gov made the funding available to provide additional community-based mental and substance use disorder treatments.
