USDA’s Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) program provides grants to encourage and improve telemedicine and distance learning services in rural areas through the use of telecommunications, computer networks, and related advanced technologies. Diabetes Major Concern in Rural Areas
The Southwest Rural Health Research Center https://srhrc.tamhsc.edu at Texas A&M released a study showing that the likelihood of dying from diabetes-related hospitalizations was 3.4 percent higher in rural areas than in large central metropolitan areas between 2009 and 2014. (more…)
