Agreement with ENTvantage Diagnostics

Ohio State University www.osu.edu  through their Ohio State Innovation Foundation, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital www.nationwidechildrens.org is partnering with ENTvantage Diagnostics Inc. www.entvantagedx.com, to license a technology capable of rapidly diagnosing bacterial sinusitis. ENTvantage develops and markets rapid in-office diagnostic tests to provide primary care and ENT physicians with timely information on the causes of ear, nose, and throat illnesses. (more…)

Maryland Funds Projects

The State of Maryland understands the urgent need and a compelling business case to develop new healthcare technologies and services. As a result, the BioMaryland Center www.bio.maryland.gov in partnership with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene http://dhmh.maryland.gov (DHMH), and the Center for Medical Technology Policy www.cmtpnet.org (CMTP), is mounting a $1 Million Challenge to fund projects totaling $50,000 to $200,000  that will focus on breakthrough innovations. PCORI Announces 2014 Funding

The Improving Healthcare Systems (IHS) program within the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) www.pcori.org has published a funding announcement. PCORI is looking for proposers to study the comparative effectiveness of alternate features of healthcare systems designed to optimize the quality, outcomes, and/or efficiency of care for patients. These systems can include innovative technologies, personnel deployments, incentives, and service designs. (more…)

VA Updating Scheduling System

The Veterans Administration (VA) www.va.gov announced plans on August 25th to issue a Request for proposal (RFP) for a new Medical Appointment Scheduling System. The new system will provide medical schedulers with cutting-edge, management-based scheduling software. The RFP will be made public by the end of September 2014 and the VA hopes to award the contract by the end of 2014. (more…)
