Amazon Launches Virtual Care
The Amazon https://amazon.com website has announced the launch of Amazon Care, a virtual medical clinic for their employees. Amazon reports that Amazon Care is going to be piloted for close to 53 thousand Amazon employees and their families in the Seattle area. With a significant portion of Amazon’s employees being millennials, the probability of the program being a success according to experts is very high. (more…)
Funds to Improve Obstetrics Care
HHS through HRSA https://www.hrsa.gov awarded nearly $9 million to launch the “Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management Strategies (RMOMS) program. Recipients include Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau Missouri ($3,000,000), Taos Health Systems, Inc. in Taos New Mexico ($2,981,737), and the Bexar County Hospital District in San Antonio Texas ($2,981,737). Upgrading to Next Gen 911
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration https://www.ntia.doc.gov within the Department of Commerce along with the Department of Transportation will provide up to $110 million in grants. The funding will go to 34 states and two tribal nations as part of the 911 Grant Program https://www.911.gov to enable Next Generation 911 (NG911) capabilities. The largest amount for state grant funding went to California ($11,399,076) and Texas for ($10,926,740). (more…)
