HHS Awards $100 Million to Health Centers

HHS through HRSA awarded $100 million to 1,381 health centers in the U.S with funding to be provided by the “Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2020.”

HRSA funded health centers may use the awards to address screening and testing needs, acquire medical supplies such as personal protective equipment and use the funding to boost telehealth capacity in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding will also support health centers in their emergency planning and response efforts.

According to HRSA Administrator Tom Engels, “HRSA funded health centers provide high quality primary care services to 28 million in the U.S. The centers will receive the funding as quickly as possible.”
