Telemedicine Solutions in Israel

The Sheba Medical Center https://www.shebaonline.org in Israel is moving forward with digital healthcare by using telemedicine to monitor patients in quarantine and using technology to treat patients with COVID-19 remotely.

The Sheba TeleTent functions as a centralized telemedicine unit and is part of the “Accelerate Redesign, Collaborate” (ARC) Innovation Center located on the hospital’s Tel HaShomer campus. ARC enables Israeli digital healthcare startups the opportunity to collaborate with hospital staff in order to work alongside physicians, pinpoint unfulfilled clinical needs, and develop effective solutions.

A dozen startups have already joined the first group of ARC entrepreneurs. There are six medical tracks, with a senior Sheba physician at the helm of each track. All of the Israeli startups are united in their quest to develop solutions for the global healthcare marketplace. All ARC developments are export-oriented.

The Israeli telehealth company Datos http://datos-health.com located in Tel Aviv, has launched a field proven COVID-19 telemedicine solution for hospitals. The telemedicine package is already in use at Sheba Medical Center, and is now being implemented in U.S hospital systems.

The Datos COVID-19 solution offers care teams a fully configured COVID-19 dashboard including an overall view of all patients sorted according to the severity of coronavirus symptoms. Also the ability to do virtual visits via video calls also includes the ability to do text messaging without requiring the Datos app, and provides data driven reminders.

Patients hospitalized at home are able to use a user-friendly mobile app so the patients can manually enter their relevant vitals and be asked to respond to two types of coronavirus surveys that will provide information.

In addition the solution provides health systems with a private HIPAA compliant, cloud-based interface of the Datos platform anywhere in the world. Optional extras include services delivered via test messages linking to web pages for reporting vitals management, survey distribution, and video calls.

Venture capital fund Triventures and the ARC Innovation Center have partnered to form Triventure ARC, a $45 million seed investment fund. Meuhedet and Leumit, two major healthcare providers in Israel have also teamed with the initiative to integrate inventive solutions into their medical operations.
