The Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) https://www.phe.gov/emergency within HHS www.hhs.gov recently awarded ICF https://www.icf.com, a global emergency management consulting and technology services provider, a contract for $25 million to continue to support the operation of the ASPR information gateway and technical assistance center for preparedness and response.
ICF will support ASPR in the day-today operations of the “Technical Resources, Assistance Center and Information Exchange” (TRACIE) https://asprtracie.hhs.gov. TRACIE was created to meet the needs of regional ASPR staff, healthcare coalitions, healthcare entities, healthcare providers, emergency managers, public health practitioners, and others working in disaster medicine, healthcare system preparedness, and public health emergency preparedness.
According to John Paczkowski, Senior Vice President for ICF, “Healthcare providers are already pushed to their limits to take care of the day-to-day needs of their communities. When a disaster strikes, TRACIE plays an essential role in helping providers prepare for such events and respond appropriately with vetted, reliable, up-to-the-minute information, direct technical assistance, and peer-to-peer sharing.”
Since the 2015 launch of TRACIE, the system has received over 150,000 visits to their website, responded to over 2,200 technical assistance requests, and now has nearly 500 subject matter experts on standby for tailored direct support. TRACIE also has over 3,100 information exchange members plus their listserv reaches over 150,000 stakeholders.
