The Agency for Health Research and Quality www.ahrq.gov within HHS, posted the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) December 12, 2016 titled “Utilizing Health IT to Scale and Spread Successful Practice Models Using Patient-Reported Outcomes” (PA-17-077).
The agency is seeking applications from organizations to do research to demonstrate how health IT can improve patient-centered health outcomes and quality of care in primary care and other ambulatory settings using successful health It-enabled practice models such as Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) measures.
PROs may provide greater insights into health status, function, symptoms, adherence, health behaviors, and quality of life. For the purpose of this FOA, PROs are defined as data provided by patients regarding their health and functional status including quality of life, symptoms, and activities of daily living. PROs can provide important data for research and quality improvement efforts.
Eligible organizations include public or non-profit private institutions such as universities, local or state governments, and the federal government. For profits and foreign institutions may participate in projects as members of a consortia or as subcontractors only.
The total costs for a project awarded under this FOA will not exceed $750,000 in any year or $1.5 million for the entire project period. The project period may not exceed three years. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with January 25, 2017 as the first due date.
