HHS Funding Forecast

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) www.acl.gov within HHS is forecasting the release of their funding opportunity titled “Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems” (SCIMS). The National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) within ACL www.acl.gov/Programs/NIDILRR/Index.aspx a grants making agency, is planning to release $6,500,000 for 14 awards in the future.

The SCIMS program is designed to provide a multidisciplinary system of rehabilitation care specifically to help individuals with Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI). NIDILRR currently supports 14 SCIMS centers and plans for the new forecasted funding to primarily be used to conduct SCI research and to collect and send data to the SCIMS longitudinal database.
