Doc-Aid Selects VirtuMedix Platform

TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) announced that Doc-Aid  an on-demand walk-in clinic has selected the VirtuMedix a cloud-based connected health platform to provide telemedicine urgent care 24/7. Doc-Aid based in Laredo, Texas is a vendor for the Choice Partner Cooperative purchasing network serving over 800 companies.

According to the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, there are 9,300 urgent care centers in the U.S. and 20,000 physicians who practice urgent care with both numbers expected to grow.

The use of VirtuMedix, enables urgent care, physician groups, hospitals and other caregivers to expand their patient reach and increase efficiency. The use of VirtuMedix supports about 1,000 physicians nationwide

By using VirtuMedix, Doc-Aid patients can conveniently upload data from their activity trackers, smartphones, and tablets, or use their mobile devices to interact with Doc-Aid physicians.

VirtuMedix integrates clinician scheduling and capacity planning algorithms and a real-time patient tracking board. This enables clinicians to view the queue and find out about the consultations in progress. In addition, the platform offers mapping and navigation so practitioners can provide information regarding location of nearby care facilities and pharmacies.
