Innovation Accelerator Opens

Entrepreneurs in the regenerative medicine space have support from the RegenMed Development Organization (ReMDO) http://rmdo.org and their research partner, the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM), to launch the Innovation Accelerator.

The mission of ReMDO is to accelerate the discovery and translation of regenerative medicine therapies. ReMDO conducts research to de-risk technologies and speed up the translation of regenerative medicine to clinical practice and the global market.

The Innovation Accelerator housed at Wake Forest is in close access to state-of-the-art biomanufacturing equipment, industry expertise, and support for novel prototyping and commercial product development through ReMDO’s Test Bed.

BioMedInnovations (BMI) https://www.bmi.llc was the first tenant to sign into the Innovation Accelerator. BMI focuses on innovative technologies that work toward finding solutions for tissue and organ perfusion and preservation.

BMI’s mobile platform known as recove™, will help the medical field transport donor organs further and for longer to help more patients. BMI is seeking FDA clearance so they can begin to focus on the kidney transplant market.

Carrie DiMarzio, CEO, BMI reports, “Joining the ReMDO Innovation Accelerator has enabled us to find collaboration, engage in the ReMDO testbed with our devices, and as a result, we were able to launch faster.”
