USDA Investing in Rural Healthcare
Recently, it was announced that USDA https://www.usda.gov was providing more than $1 billion in FY 2017 to help improve access to healthcare services for 2.5 million people in rural communities in 41 states. The release of a new report by the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) https://itif.org indicates that the state of technology-based startup activity has been positive over the past decade in spite of some economy-wide declines in new business formation. Loans to Finance Cataract Surgeries
In Sub-Saharan Africa, the rate of blindness and vision impairment is twice the global average while 80 percent of the cases are preventable or treatable. Half of those living with avoidable blindness are affected by cataracts, a clouding of the lens which can easily be treated with a simple 20 minute surgery. (more…)
GSA Creates VETS 2
The General Services Administration (GSA) has created their new Veterans Technology Services 2 (VETS 2) Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). The new VETS 2 GWAC is the only GWAC set-aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).
