The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust https://helmsleytrust.org, is adding Nevada as the eighth state in the Hemsley’s Rural Healthcare Program and will provide more than $11.3 million in grants to help 10 Nevada hospitals.
Over the last decade, the Hemsley Charitable Trust’s Rural Healthcare Program has provided funding for IT to connect rural patients to emergency medical care, to bring the latest medical therapies to patients in remote areas, and to provide state-of-the-art training for rural hospitals and EMS personnel.
The $11.3 million grant funding stems from a recent survey of Nevada’s Critical Access Hospitals. The survey identified x-ray equipment, ultrasound machines, CT scanners, and simulation-based learning as the top needs to help patients obtain access to up to date healthcare technology.
So far, the Helmsley Charitable Trust has awarded more than $500 million to organizations and initiatives in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, and Nevada.
