Meridian to Provide Training

Meridian Knowledge Solutions, a provider of integrated performance and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is implementing their Software-as-a-Service LMS and Social platform for the California Health Benefit Exchange also known as “Covered California”. The LMS will be used to educate nearly nine million Californians about the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

California was the first state to create a health benefit exchange following the passage of ACA. Covered California has awarded $37 million in grants to community organizations such as
Catholic Charities and the NAACP to educate the public.

Meridian’s LMS will provide approximately 40,000 grantees and state workers plus others with 15 learning tracks with courses on applying for healthcare coverage or on how to submit and appeal if denied.

Grantees and eventually the public will be able to access the training delivered by the Software-as-a-Service LMS via a password protected web site. Since some people needing the information will not be familiar with technology, Meridian has designed the software’s interface to be intuitive for people to use even with basic computer skills.

“Meridian’s software gives administrators a quick way to assign training, administer tests, and deliver knowledge to kiosks, PCs, smartphones, and tablets,” said Jason Marceau, COO for Meridian. “Our software providers are going to use video content as well as collaborative tools like wikis and blogs for sharing information and policies.”

Grantees will access the ACA training via the Meridian LMS at www.coveredca.com. For more information, go to www.meridianksi.com.
