Companies Partnering on Virtual Care

Atrium Health https://atriumhealth.org and Navicent Health https://navicenthealth.org  have partnered to bring new virtual care to Georgia. One primary objective was to invest capital and implement treatment models such as virtual care and telepsychiatry to provide more behavioral healthcare for Georgians.

Navicent health’s virtual care delivery system is an expansion of Atrium Health’s COVID-19 Virtual Hospital which used advanced telemedicine to treat patients who do not require the level of care provided by the ICU.

Patients appropriate for treatment through a virtual care delivery system, receive a COVID-19 Home Monitoring Kit which includes a blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter, thermometer, and detailed instructions for use. The patient can monitor and log their vital signs several times a day and have check-in calls with nurses and a physician as needed.

In addition, the partners have also  established the virtual Behavioral Healthcare Integration (vBHI) program at outpatient clinics throughout mid-state. Healthcare consumers visiting Navicent Health’s outpatient clinics in need of behavioral healthcare, may be referred directly to a behavioral health professional to participate in a real-time virtual care visit at their physician’s office, and receive a real time assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Currently, the system is averaging three referrals per provider per month with almost 250 patients referred to the program.
