On June 29, 2018, HHS Office of the National Coordinator posted the grant opportunity titled “Leading Edge Acceleration Projects (LEAP) in Health Information Technology” (NAP-AX-18-003) with an award ceiling for $1,000,000 due August 17, 2018.
The 21st Century Cures Act directs ONC to improve the interoperability of health information, facilitate information exchange, address barriers to interoperability, and reduce clinician burden relative to EHRs.
This funding opportunity announces four specific areas of interest. ONC is specifically interested in responses with innovative solutions and breakthrough advances in population-level data-focused APIs, advancing clinical knowledge at the point of care, integrating knowledge at the point of care, and dealing with the legal and policy implications for innovative approaches.
Eligible applicants can include state governments, public and state controlled institutions of higher education, private institutions of higher education, nonprofits with 501C status, and Indian/Native American Tribal governments.
For profit organizations may participate in projects as members of a consortia or as a sub-recipient only and foreign institutions may also participate in projects as members of a consortia or as a sub-recipient only.
