HRSA Posts Grant Notice

HRSA’s “Rural Health Care Services Outreach Program” is a community-based grant program aimed towards promoting rural healthcare services by improving the healthcare delivery in these communities. HRSA www.hrsa.gov posted the grant notice (HRSA-18-030) on October 6, 2017 on www.grants.gov with estimated funding expected to be $5,000,000.

Outreach projects focus on improving access to services, develop strategies to use to adapt to changes in the healthcare environment. The grant calls for a consortia of local healthcare and social service providers to help rural communities.

To be an eligible applicant, the consortia or organization must be a rural nonprofit or rural public entity that represents three or more healthcare providers and be located in a non-metropolitan county or in a rural census tract.

The goal for the consortia is to come up with innovative approaches to meet the challenges related to specific health needs. The grant notice calls for the consortia to address the key clinical priorities of HHS such as serious mental illness, substance abuse, and childhood obesity.
