Foundation to Award $4.45 Million

The DentaQuest Foundation through their Innovation Fund for Oral Health is planning to award up to $4.5 million in grants in 2013. Since 2000, the Foundation has provided over $30 million in grants and program support. The Foundation supports programs to improve the oral health and collaboration among local, state, and national partners.

The Foundation seeks to use a systems approach to invest in programs and initiatives that positively impact four key systems influencing oral health such as public policy, financing, strengthening the delivery of oral healthcare and prevention, and expanded community engagement on oral health issues.

Prospective Innovation fund grantees should focus on:

  • Innovative solutions to impact optimal systems for specific communities
  • Engaging non-traditional partners to make an impact
  • Promoting cost-effective models  and new ideas involving cross-sector collaboration
  • Developing and using new technologies effectively

Applicants must be based in the U.S or its territories and may be either public entities or nonprofit organizations that are 501(c) (3).

The Foundation is accepting Concept Papers to address barriers to optimal oral health. Concept papers are accepted on the fourth Thursday of each month. Following a review of the concept paper and subsequent conversations, the Foundation then invites a pool of applicants each month to submit a full proposal through the Foundation’s online application system.

Go to www.dentaquestfoundation.org for application guidelines. As a first step submit a brief 1-2 page concept paper to Andrea Forsht, Grants and Programs Associate. The email is Andrea.Forsht@dentaquestfoundation.org. or call 617-886-1760.
