It is reported that nearly 400,000 servicemen and women have been diagnosed with TBI since 9/11 and as many as 600,000 now suffer with related psychological health conditions. A gift for $38 million from the Marcus Foundation, will enable the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus www.ucdenver.efu/anschutz/Pages/landing.aspx to become a national model for the diagnosis and care of veterans who suffer from Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and related psychological health conditions.
By utilizing the funding, the Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) opening this summer in the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center, http://anschutzwellness.com will offer conventional medicine diagnostic treatments while integrating alternative approaches.
The institute will optimize the functions of conventional medicine diagnostic treatments while integrating alternative approaches and will share lessons learned from systems across the country in real-time,” said MIBH Executive Director James P. Kelly.
