The team involving Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania www.sep.benfranklin.org, Independence Health Group (IHG) www.ibx.com, and Safeguard Scientifics www.safeguard.com are working together to foster healthcare IT innovation.
It was recently announced that VitalTrax http://vitaltrax.nrt received $150,000 in seed financing and the first company to receive funds from the team’s six million digital health funding initiative to help early-stage healthcare startups.

VitalTrax founded in 2016, delivers complete clinical trial data collections and patient engagement solutions built on a cloud-based enterprise platform and provides a mobile application for patients.
The company makes it easier to recruit and communicate with patients during the trial. Also, the company’s mobile App solution called “Wing” is a patient engagement tool that provides a way for patients to search for a trial, apply to become a volunteer, and stay involved during the trial
VitalTrax’s electronic clinical outcome assessment tool collects data directly from patients, but more closely resembles social media than traditional clinical research documents while still conforming to regulatory requirements.
