The 21st Century Cures Act established the Health Information Technology Advisory committee to make recommendations to the National Coordinator for HIT. The Act gave the Comptroller General responsibility to appoint 14 committee members.
The Act requires that members reflect ideas from providers, ancillary healthcare workers, consumers, purchasers, health plans, HIT developers, researchers, patients, and relevant Federal agencies. Also, the committee needs individuals with technical expertise on healthcare quality, system functions, privacy, security, electronic exchange and the use of health information along with the use of standards.
Letters for nomination with resumes should be submitted by April 14, 2017 for appointments that will be made July 2017. For questions, contact Will Simerl at 404-679-1888.
