Lee Homer President of the Stratus Telehealth Division presented their new communication platform at the Annual J.P Morgan Healthcare Conference held this month. For example, the platform can help by using available several options in the Emergency Room (ER) if you need a specialist.
Paging one to come to the ER from across the facility or maybe drive to the hospital from home may be one option. Video call may be another option in some facilities but you would need the direct number of the specific physician and you are reliant on that physician answering the call.
Stratus has created a system where the ER doctor only needs to hit one button on an iPad. The intelligent call routing will find the next available specialist in a specific field and call their personal device. If the call is rejected or not answered in a timely manner, the call automatically routes to the next available specialist. To watch the video, go to https://vimeo.com/183118887 .
In another situation that may call for a telehealth solution, Stratus is able to support up to six video parties at one time. The Stratus Language Services technology enables a non-English speaking patient to be placed into a video call with a spoken or signed language interpreter, to ensure that effective communication is achieved between the patient and healthcare provider. Post discharge hospitals are now able to use Stratus Telehealth solutions to send push notifications to patients’ own devices. The Stratus Post Hospital Discharge Solution can message patients within 24 hours of discharge instructing patients to join a video call for a follow-up with a provider. Hospitals are able to also generate reports identifying patients who did not engage in a follow-up within a specified time post discharge and may risk readmission.
