NIHCM Awards Grants

The National Institute for Health Care Management Foundation (NIHCM) a nonprofit, recently awarded seven new grants totaling $345,000 to support investigator-initiated health services research. NIHCM has awarded over $1 million in grants since the research grant program began in 2012.

The latest round of grant funding will support:

  • Promoting Better Pain Management Outcomes: Precision Decision Support for Opioid Prescription (Researchers from the University of Maryland)
  • Selected Market Failures in Health Care: Analyzing the Scope, Causes, and Potential Solutions (Researchers from Yale University and Harvard)
  • Evaluating and Improving Post-Hospitalization Mental Health Follow-Up Care (Researcher from the University of Massachusetts Amherst)
  • The Clinical Economic Impact of Washington State’s Oral Anticancer Treatment Access Law (Researchers from the University of Washington)
  • Patterns and Determinants of Inappropriate Diagnostic Imaging (Researchers from Northeastern University, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Harvard Medical School)
  • eQuality: Improving LGBT, GNC, and DSD Health Through a comprehensive Medical School Training Program (Researchers from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and from Harvard Medical School)
  • Consumer Directed Health Plan Impact on Low-Value Service Utilization and Spending (Researchers from University of Southern California and the Rand Corporation)
