EMS Info to EDs & Cath Labs

Innovative Communication LLC (InnoComm) www.Track-EMS.com based in Charlottesville Virginia reports that TrackEMS®, a communication tool for EMS Professionals, enables smartphones and tablets to be used to securely communicate with hospital’s Emergency Departments and Cath Labs. With TrackEMS, EMS professionals can rapidly get data to Emergency Departments so that the ED and Cath Lab are set up and prepared in advance of the patient’s arrival.

At the scene, TrackEMS is able to gather data quickly using an Android and iOS compatible smartphone or tablet, capture data electronically using a one touch assessment feature, and transmit case summaries to the ED and Cath Lab dashboards.

At the hospital TrackEMS is able to:

  • Display all transmitted data on a Charge Nurse and Cath Lab dashboard showing patient details and transport timelines
  • Store all data securely and provide two-way communication between the Charge Nurse dashboard and other devices
  • Alert ED personnel of case type while allowing EMS to be notified of the room assignment for their patient
  • Make it possible for the Cath Lab to receive all transmitted data for STEMIs only

Currently, the system is being used at development sites in Massachusetts and Florida. TrackEMS also offers a wide range of standard Points of Entry for Trauma, STEMI, Stroke, Sepsis, plus create an unlimited number of Points of Entry that can be added or modified.

“In addition, TrackEMS also has the ability to be programmed and customized based on the geographic or demographic population as well as EMS and hospital protocols,” reports Track EMS Vice President for Sales Bill Kinch, a veteran paramedic who has worked critical care transport calls for more than 30 years.
