The Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) www.usamraa.army.mil at Fort Detrick MD in support of the Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) www.usamriid.army.mil is planning to issue a sole source firm-fixed priced award for software to Qiagen Software www.qiagen.com.
The Diagnostic Systems Division (DSD) of the USAMRIID will require Qiagen software to analyze large amounts of scientific data, specifically gene expression, proteomics, and metabolomics data to study signaling cascades pathways and systems biology. The software will be used to analyze large amounts of data that requires a systems-based analysis.
This examination of the software is required in order to renew five licenses currently in use by the USAMRIID DSD. Also, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) funded research efforts are based on biology capabilities of Qiagen software. Continuing usage of this software is necessary to enable future research to correlate with present and past data analysis and to provide comparable, accurate, and precise data results.
This Notice of Intent posted September 3, 2016 to award a Sole Source Contract is not a request for competitive proposals. However, sources may submit a capability statement for the agency to consider before the intended award date of September 17, 2016.
