Arizona Agency Issues RFP

The Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology (ASET) office is responsible for implementing the ONC’s $9.3 million HIE cooperative agreement award for the state.  ASET launched the HIE Enterprise Grant Program on April 22, 2013 to help large healthcare organizations standardize and promote interoperability for sharing clinical data. The grant funding supports organizations that are creating, developing, or maturing their IT environment to increase data exchange to help providers adapt to changes in reimbursement methods so that providers will be able to meet meaningful use requirements.

ASET is requesting proposals for the grant program anticipating the total amount of the funding to be up to $1 million. Each organization is eligible to receive a maximum award up to $200,000. The grant funding is to be used to accelerate HIE for healthcare organizations and payers that are working to make clinical data more available to their providers.

The grant program is open to Accountable Care Organizations, an enterprise wide HIE for a health system, an HIO, a Medicaid Managed Care organization, Integrated Delivery Network, or a physician organization comprised of 100 or more licensed Arizona physicians.

Grant applications are due to ASET on June 7, 2013 with the grant program ending December 31, 2013. For information on the RFP, go to http://hie.az.gov/docs/app_plans/ASET_HIE_Enterprise_Grant_Program_Guidance_Final.pdf.
