Clinic Opens for 1st Responders

Qliance http://qliance.com opens primary care clinic in a Seattle fire station to make first responders health a top priority. Qliance, a membership-based primary care company operating in Puget Sound, is able to offer members 24/7 access to high quality doctors and primary care teams during office visits. Telemedicine or virtual care is provided via phones, email, or by secure video chats.

Doctors will oversee all aspects of Fire Fighter primary care and help develop personal health plans with each member. Over the next few months, Qliance will bring in additional onsite resources such as in-house fitness evaluations, physical therapy, and rehabilitation.

The Qliance clinic for Fire Fighters will offer:

  • A evidence-based updated version of the national Fire Fighter exam
  • Better health outcomes through comprehensive industry-specific preventive care and screenings
  • Better management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Reductions in avoidable emergency room, hospital, and specialty care use
  • Reductions in the personal and public disabilities

Erika Bliss, MD and CEO of Qliance explained, “Fire Fighters are regularly exposed to unique and devastating health risks and suffer from alarming rates of cancer, heart disease, PTSD, suicide, and musculoskeletal injuries.”

“By offering Seattle Fire Fighters a close, confidential relationship with Qliance, doctors who understand their work, their needs, we are now able to provide care in a setting designed to streamline the process”, reports Tim O’Mahony, Chairman of the Seattle Fire Fighters Health Care Trust.
