NYP OnDemand Rolled Out

New York-Presbyterian www.nyp.org has just rolled out “NYP OnDemand” a new suite of digital health services. The system is designed to improve and expand patient care while extending access to the expertise of New-York Presbyterian’s physicians through their healthcare network.

“At New York-Presbyterian, we are looking to redefine the intersection of technology and healthcare and the new digital health platform is our way of strengthening traditional telehealth services,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, President and CEO of New-York-Presbyterian.

NYP OnDemand provides telehealth services on the website and with mobile apps that can provide:

  • Digital Second Opinions—Specialists now offer second opinions to patients in the U.S and will eventually offer the services around the globe via an easy-to-access online portal
  • Inter-Hospital Digital Consults—Patients are able to be connected from New York-Presbyterian’s Regional Network Hospitals to New York-Presbyterian Hospital specialists
  • Digital Emergency and Urgent Care—A new pilot program, the Emergency Center now offers virtual visits via real-time video interactions with a clinician after having an initial triage and medical screening exam. Patients will eventually be able to access virtual urgent care service at the hospital from their homes
  • Digital Follow-Up appointments—In 2016, digital follow-ups will provide patients with virtual options
  • Telestroke Service—Video conferencing and data sharing is used to allow 24/7 coverage for acute stroke care with rapid evaluation provided by a neurologist with stroke expertise

In the coming months additional digital consult services such as behavioral health, emergency medicine, and pediatrics will be offered.
