MobileDefender Launched

Secura Trac, a provider of mobile health and safety solutions focused on protecting children, seniors, and employees has developed the MobileDefender™ to allow seniors to contact emergency help at any time and in any location with a press of a button. The MobileDefender is a small device the size of a garage door remote. It is 3G enabled and capable of placing and receiving calls, sending emergency SOS messages, and wirelessly connecting with personal health monitors including a waterproof fall detector.

Current technology used by many seniors to reach help when they fall is severely limited in range of use. In order to contact help using that type of alert button, seniors have to be inside their homes and within a short distance of the base unit that is wired to their home phone line.

Should a medical emergency or accident occur, the person carrying the device can press and hold the SOS button for 3 seconds to send an SOS message to pre-programmed contacts and trigger a phone call to a 24/7 monitoring center.  Holding the SOS button also triggers up to four phone calls to be placed to emergency contacts based on whether or not the calls are answered.

The device is small and light approximately 1.5 ounces and is worn with a lanyard around the neck. It has a sensitive microphone capable of picking up clear voices from at least 10 feet and a high-power speaker capable of more than 100 decibels making it easy for seniors to hear.

The introduction of the MobileDefender is an incredible advancement of technology in the “mobile Personal Emergency Response System” (mPERS) industry,” said Secura Trac CEO Chris Holbert. “Not only will seniors be able to reach help in an emergency situation from any location using this new device, the technology powering the device also enables it to communicate with other medical monitoring technology to trigger alerts of a heart attack, fall, or other critical situations as they  occur.”
