BioAccel with laboratory and business facilities at Bioinspire is partnering with Life365 to develop a new venture development program. Life365 has been selected by BioAccel http://bioaccel.org/subsidary/bioinspire to receive early-stage funding including office space at Bioinspire’s 7,000 square foot facility in Arizona.
Life 365 http://rainislife.com was founded by entrepreneur Kent Dicks. The Life365 “Rain” platform uses light-touch hardware, software, and services to help patients adhere to prescribed health regimens and to integrate individual health data into EMRs.
The Rain” platform uses light technology and light touch engagement to gather the largest amount of actionable health data from the greatest patient population at the lowest cost possible. The RAIN platform integrates health data collected by wearable sensors and “Hubs” to EMRs and analytical systems.
According to Kent Dicks “We have analyzed the market and found gaps that are completely ignoring a large population that could benefit from smart wearable technology that isn’t being addressed by activity trackers or the more complex and expensive smart watches.”
He adds, “We think there is huge potential to fill gaps at both ends of the spectrum by targeting a much larger range of users. The focus needs to be on the growing aging population and needs to address the needs of the most costly patients in the healthcare system.”
Studies show that utilizing mobile health in the chronic care arena will be invaluable in developing new light weight wearable solutions that are truly “Smart” and connected to the cloud to engage the aging in place market and seniors overall.
As Kent Dicks sums up, “The impact in potential cost reduction alone makes the new Rain Platform extremely attractive to payers, providers, self-insured employers and others who are financially responsible for the care of individuals.”
