AMD Global Telemedicine’s www.amdtelemedicine.com technology was selected by MercyCare Community Physicians www.mercycare.org to be used in a first of-its-kind Telehealth Clinic in Cedar Rapids Iowa. The Clinical Assist telemedicine system and AGNES Interactive software allows a registered nurse at the Mercy Care Telehealth Clinic to perform a clinical assessment on a patient with a remote physician.
After the consult is completed, the information from the exam goes back to the patient’s primary care physician via the EMR system or by fax. The Clinical Assist telemedicine system is designed to accommodate multiple medical specialties and integrates with any video conferencing format.
At the heart of the system is the Agnes Interactive software plus connected medical devices to allow the onsite nurse to collect vital patient data, medical images, and video to share with the remote physician.
“AMD was there every step of the way to support us through the initial set up and integration of the equipment in our clinic,” said Brooke Kensinger, Director of Business health Solutions at MercyCare.”
“It was important for us to make the experience for our patients a nice transition from an in-person office visit to a telemedicine encounter, and AMD’s telemedicine technology enables us to accomplish that goal with our patients,” added Kensinger.
