The Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth (GPT) www.gatelehealth.org a nonprofit promoting telemedicine programs in communities throughout Georgia, just announced that eight Georgia schools have been awarded grants through the 2015 Rural School-Based Telehealth Center Initiative. The plan is to develop and implement a telehealth program at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.
The grant program is open to rural Georgia public and charter schools located in counties with a population of less than 35,000 residents. Each school is going to receive up to $30,000 in grant funding which goes directly to purchasing telehealth equipment, training, and to the school-based telemedicine center
The grant awards went to:
- Jeff Davis Elementary School
- Jeff Davis Primary School
- Jeff Davis Middle School
- Bainbridge County Schools
- Potter Street Elementary School
- Pulaski County Elementary School
- Pulaski County Middle School
- Pulaski County High School.
