To help ensure accurate data capture in clinical trials, more and more companies are using mobile technology to power their clinical trials. To do this, they need a secure, reliable resource to seamlessly collect, capture, and transfer data.
Clinical Ink www.clinicalink.com is collaborating with Novartis www.novartis.com, PPD www.ppdi.com, and Qualcomm Life www.qualcommlife.com to collect medical device data via a smartphone app. Clinical lnk a provider of eSource clinical solutions for clinical trials is using Qualcomm Life’s 2net™ Mobile and 2net platform to power the mobile platform called CentrosHealth.
The CentrosHealth platform supports trial-specific mobile apps designed to personalize the patient experience during a clinical trial, thereby expanding the frequency and breadth of participant data collection. The technology offers trial teams’ unique, continuous insight into the patient trial experience, while supplying enhanced information to use to better analyze results.
Supporting CentrosHealth, Qualcomm Life’s 2net Platform enables interoperability across a wide array of devices, applications, and sensors, enabling biometric sensor data to be reliably captured and transmitted to the cloud, so that clinicians can have nearly real-time data to assess patient care remotely.
“Wireless collection and aggregation of medical device information enables clinical trial data capture to occur in a convenient, seamless, and real-life setting for patients in their home,” notes Rick Valencia, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Qualcomm Life, Inc. “This increased mobility and near real-time data capture can reduce data errors and bring more data transparency to clinical trials.”
