HealthSpot www.healthspot.net presented their new 2.0 cloud-based software and data integration at ATA 2015 in preparation for their first consumer retail pharmacy roll-out in Ohio with future plans to expand all across the country. The 2.0 software upgrade uses Xerox’s healthcare IT infrastructure to seamlessly interface with insurance claims through a payment data feed and then is able to integrate with EMRs to provide continuity of care.
The HealthSpot station is a private walk-in kiosk and connects with the local medical community by providing interactions with doctors at convenient locations such as the corner pharmacy. The upgraded software enables web-based telehealth visits featuring a remote exam that combines the use of digital medical devices with high definition video conferencing.
“We want to build a national healthcare access network in retail pharmacies in conjunction with leading local health system partnerships. To evolve healthcare, we must focus on data integration in our system to deliver a high standard of care”, said Steve Cashman, HealthSpot CEO.
“With HealthSpot, we have the potential to reach over 30,000 retail pharmacies which will provide patient access to affordable and convenient care, reports Tamara St Claire, Chief Innovation Officer of Commercial Healthcare for Xerox www.xerox.com.
