AcariaHealth & NurseWise Partnering

AcariaHealth a specialty pharmacy and NurseWise a provider of multilingual nursing and health education services are partnering in the ScriptAssist® for Hepatitis C, a medication adherence program. The program is designed to ensure that patients adhere to optimize clinical outcomes, collaborate with members of the healthcare team, and manage health plan spending by practicing waste management.

“What we’ve seen recently with the evolution of hepatitis C treatment is astounding,” said Don Howard, President and CEO of AcariaHealth. “The new oral therapies now offer patients hope for a cure, as well as lessened side effects.”

“Not only are these new treatments more patient friendly, but they can also reduce the prescribed treatment duration in half”, said Kimberly D. Tuck, RN, CEO and President of NurseWise. “By using motivational behavioral interviewing, our team can help to improve patient follow-through in treatment use and improve the chances for overcoming the disease.”

Some of the key features of ScriptAssist for Hepatitis C includes:

  • Automated enrollment via AcariaHealth’s operating platform based on satisfaction of clinical criteria
  • Personalized and consistent telephonic patient outreach featuring motivational interviewing tactics from the NurseWise ScriptAssist program
  • Clinical escalations to providers and plan case management through a HIPAA-compliant and secure software platform to identify potential barriers to adherence

The program will provide comprehensive support for patients prior to and during their initial treatment regimen, and will track metrics through adherence rates, outcomes achievement, and patient satisfaction surveys.
