MultiPlan Awards Grants

The company MultiPlan Inc. a single gateway to a host of network and analytics-based solutions used to manage financial risks associated with healthcare claims has announced the recipients in the “2014 Rural Health Outreach Grant Program”.

Four recipients from rural hospitals and a medical center were selected and each will receive $7,500 to help introduce or expand services, education, screenings plus use for other endeavors to support healthcare needs in their rural communities.

The four recipients include:

  • Herington Municipal Hospital in Herington Kansas—The 25 bed acute care critical access hospital in rural Kansas will use the funds to help purchase a new Compound Tomography (CT) Scanner
  • Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville, Ohio—The hospital a 97 bed acute and primary care facility serving rural Union county plus five surrounding counties will use the grant funding to purchase a Biodex Balance to screen and assess the risk of falls
  • St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario, Oregon—A 49 bed acute care hospital serving one of the most remote and rural areas in the nation. The hospital will use the funds for its “Frontier Healthcare Project” to increase access to primary and preventive care for residents. Individuals will be linked to provide resources towards managing chronic conditions
  • Sierra Vista Hospital In Truth or Consequences, New Mexico—This 15 bed critical access hospital will use the funding to purchase Pediatric Crash Carts and a Childbirth Training Simulator
