Vidal Connect’s HealthPatch MD biosensor is able to capture clinical-grade biometric measurements. The device has just received FDA clearance and is the first FDA cleared medical device that includes a fall detection feature.
The device is designed to support the treatment of a range of diseases and conditions and is a versatile and comprehensive biosensor solution that can be used by healthcare professionals to provide 24/7 real-time unattended monitoring of physiological data or vital signs.
Encapsulated within the device are cutting-edge sensors and electronics technologies. Combined with Vital Connect’s proprietary algorithms, these technologies enable the device to provide clinical grade measurements for single lead ECG, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and posture including fall detection and severity.
The HealthPatch MD uses on-board intelligence to do sophisticated, proprietary SensorFusion algorithms which can process thousands of data points per minute to produce accurate measurements.
Healthcare professionals will be able to use the device to collect patient data-on-demand and be notified when physiological data falls outside of selected parameters. In addition, the device is less obtrusive that other sensors, can be customized for data reporting, operates on Bluetooth 4.0, and provides HIPPA-compliant cloud-based storage and connectivity. The HealthPatch MD has received regulatory approval (CE Mark) for distribution in the EU and is licensed and registered by Health Canada for distribution.
